Spectral range

Wavelength response

The infrared wavelength interval specified for the detector and optical system.

What it means

Spectral range describes the wavelengths to which a camera is designed to respond. Many modules in this documentation library specify 8–14 µm.

A quoted detector response does not establish the transmission of every lens, window or coating placed in front of it. The assembled optical path must suit the application.

In practice

Integration note

Check the transmission of enclosure windows and additional optics over the stated wavelength band.
