Automatic gain control

Image processing that maps the scene’s signal range into a viewable image.

What it means

Automatic gain control adjusts how signal values are represented within the available display range. It helps make thermal contrast visible as the scene changes.

The same object can appear with a different brightness when the scene distribution changes. Display brightness is therefore not a direct substitute for calibrated temperature data.

In practice

Integration note

Use the documented radiometric data path for numerical measurements, and keep display processing settings consistent when comparing images.
