FFC
A correction update made using a spatially uniform reference.
What it means
Flat-field correction updates the camera response using a uniform reference. A mechanical shutter can provide that reference in many uncooled thermal designs.
FFC and NUC are closely related in practice, but command names and correction procedures vary between products. The matching manual determines how the camera performs and exposes the operation.
In practice
Budget for correction events in a continuous-video application. A held display image is different from newly acquired scene data.
