Interfaces & data

Video stream resolution

Transmitted or encoded image dimensions

The frame dimensions on an output path, which may differ from the native detector array.

What it means

A camera can scale, encode or augment its native detector data before transmission. Stream dimensions therefore describe the selected output format, not necessarily the number of detector pixels.

Some uncompressed buffers include temperature or metadata rows. Software must respect the format actually reported by the device.

In practice

Integration note

Use the acquisition API’s reported dimensions and the matched layout description instead of copying another model’s sample constants.
