Core vs. assembled module
The distinction between a bare thermal core and a complete lens-and-board assembly.
What it means
Dimensions and mass may be quoted for a bare core, a core with a lens, or a full assembly with an adapter board. These are different mechanical configurations.
A lens flange, connector, cable bend and heat path can materially change the envelope. A core-only size is insufficient to release an enclosure design.
In practice
Freeze the complete lens, flange, board and connector revision before mechanical tooling. Use the drawing for that exact assembly.
