Calibration
The documented process that establishes or updates the measurement relationship.
What it means
Radiometric calibration relates the camera’s signal to known reference conditions. It is separate from selecting a palette or adjusting display contrast.
Pixel-uniformity corrections and radiometric calibration serve related but different purposes. Replacing optics, changing firmware or using unmatched calibration data can affect the validity of the delivered measurement.
In practice
Use only the product’s matched calibration procedure and reference data. Preserve the original files and record any authorised changes.
