CAMCUDA HI640 · Shutterless / flagless LWIR
Shutterless thermal imaging.
Built for compact OEM systems.
The CAMCUDA HI640 shutterless thermal camera module combines a 640 × 512, 12 μm VOx detector with 50 Hz imaging and a 21 × 21 mm PCB. Choose 4.8 mm, 6.8 mm or 9 mm optics for your embedded imaging project.
The shutterless thermal camera module
No mechanical shutter.
No NUC flag assembly.
The HI640 specification lists shutterless non-uniformity correction. “Shutterless” and “flagless” describe correction without a mechanical shutter or blocking flag in the imaging path.
Combine this architecture with USB, MIPI-CSI and analog CVBS video interfaces for a compact LWIR integration. Sensitivity is specified as ≤40 mK at f/1.0, 300 K, with a time to image of less than 5 seconds.
Shutterless describes the correction architecture. It does not, by itself, specify calibrated temperature measurement or guarantee zero drift.

Image processing & display
Fine control.
Flexible integration.
Detail enhancement.
DDE image enhancement, automatic or manual brightness and contrast, and horizontal / vertical image reversal.
Ten palettes.
Choose from 10 color palettes, change polarity and use the crosshair for the required viewing presentation.
1–8× digital zoom.
Digital magnification is adjustable in 0.1× steps. This is digital zoom, not a motorized optical zoom lens.
USB. MIPI-CSI. CVBS.
USB and MIPI-CSI video paths, analog CVBS video and RS-232 control are listed in the specification. A five-button keyboard interface is also supported.

Frequently asked questions.
What do shutterless and flagless mean?
The HI640 specification lists shutterless non-uniformity correction, without a mechanical shutter or blocking flag for that correction. This describes the imaging architecture, not a promise of zero drift under every condition.
Does shutterless mean calibrated temperature measurement?
No. Shutterless describes the correction method. The supplied documents do not specify a calibrated temperature-measurement range or accuracy.
Which lens options can I order?
Choose 4.8 mm, 6.8 mm or 9 mm. The unit prices shown in the selector apply to 1–99 units. The 4.8 mm reference has a 78.5° horizontal × 65° vertical field of view.
Is there a discount for multiple samples?
No automatic sample quantity discount applies. The selected configuration’s unit price is multiplied by the order quantity. 100+ units are handled by OEM quotation.
Which video and control interfaces are listed?
The specification lists USB, MIPI-CSI and analog CVBS video interfaces, plus RS-232 communication and a five-button keyboard interface. The serial guide specifies 19,200 bps, 8N1.
Why are 640 × 512 and 768 × 576 both listed?
640 × 512 is the detector format. 768 × 576 is the image display resolution listed with PAL timing. They describe different parts of the imaging path.
Does the 4.8 mm drawing describe the other lenses?
No. The published lens illustration and mechanical drawing are specifically the 4.8 mm reference. They are not presented as drawings for the 6.8 mm or 9 mm optics.
